|This double 'koru' has the feel of a shift in the wind, a change taking place, be it a physical change or a life change. Since most of our carvings seek to make the wearer think about how the carving applies to some part of their life, we tend to approach this design as being an abstraction of a personal change.|
The negative space in this carving is strong and uneven, on purpose. When a change begins, it comes from a past which often dictates the choices we make for our future. Choosing change is rarely easy. After weighing the past and hoping to change for the better, we can never be sure of what will happen next. There are no answers in the carving, just a reminder that we will always be changing.
