|The visual focus of this carving which carries its meaning are the two overlapping lines in the center. One represents the time which has come before us... the past. The other represents the time which lies ahead of us.. the future. But where they touch each other in a single thin line is the present. We are made up of the sum of these three things. |
It is simple to see our past and it is a common preoccupation to dwell on our own future, but the tiny line in the center... the moment we are in now... that's the tough part. As with the carving, "Journey", this is a reminder to be aware of all three parts but never, to sacrifice the present for the power of the past and the dreams of the future.
